"The Verdict" by Sue Gordon Southern Counties Drama Festival February 2010
A
small group of our Glow actors were selected to enter a piece into the
2010 Southern Counties Drama Festival in February, and this proved to
be a very valuable and challenging experience. We were extremely proud
of the entertaining and confident performances from our team, as they
each tackled three very different characters in this one act play.
Comments from the adjudicator included:
All elements of stage presentation had been given careful consideration showing a good interaction of design skillls....
An
outstanding feature of the performance was the unflagging pace of the
action....which in this instance, for so young a company, was
exceptionally good...
In particular, voice production was demonstrated to an extent quite unusual for actors of this age.....
In
a piece which is to a large extent fantasy...characterisation is a
daunting task for young actors, and this cast rose very creditably to
the challenge.....
Overall, the direction of this performance....was creative, assured and highly successful....
