Productions
Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure follows our favourite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.
A group of teenagers do something bad, really bad, then panic and cover the whole thing up. DNA by Dennis Kelly is a poignant, sometimes hilarious, and ultimately disturbing tale with a very dark heart.
Winners of the Southern Counties Drama Festival 2019, with Best Young Actor, Best Young Actress and Best Stage Presentation.
Written by Oliver Lansley, The Trench is inspired by the true story of a miner who became entombed underground in a collapsed tunnel during World War One. As the horror threatens to engulf him, he finds that not everything in the darkness is what it seems.
Winner of the Best Stage Presentation Award, SCDF 2020.
One of the great primal, spiritual myths, Everyman asks whether it is only in death that we can understand our lives. A cornerstone of English drama since the 15th century, this hard hitting production has a script adapted by Carol Ann Duffy, Poet Laureate.
Awarded the ICB Overall Winner’s Trophy and Best Youth Production, SCDF 2017.
Testimonials
“Glow was the best thing that ever happened to my child! He joined at 8 and left at 18 bringing about the most amazing growth in self confidence from the lead in High School Musical at the age of 10 to the belting songs by Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar at 18 plus a diverse spread of shows in between!”
“My daughter has attended Glow since she was 6 years old and has been hooked on drama since her very first class. Saturday afternoons are a never-to-be-missed weekly highlight. What Jackie and the team manage to extract from the children is simply awe-inspiring.”
“The plays and musical performances are all fabulous and of an incredibly high standard. They are a testament to the professional and nurturing direction of the Glow team, and to the talent and hard work of everyone involved.”
“We found out about GLOW through a friend and were keen to try it out for our middle son who found a love for acting whilst practising for his Year 6 leavers play. From the beginning the whole team were incredibly welcoming and he instantly made friends with like-minded children, which can be hard at school sometimes.”
“My daughter, now 11, began Glow aged 8 and has performed in a wonderful variety of musicals. From the first day she was welcomed into the Glow family by other members and staff alike, and has made some very strong friendships with fellow actors. She absolutely loves both the rehearsals and the performances themselves.”
“My daughter has been part of the Glow team for 8 years and during that time she has performed in numerous productions, all delivered to the highest standards – it is like watching a West End show! The level of teaching and inclusiveness is superb. She has made many friends, who are all very supportive of each other. A very special theatre company that I would highly recommend.”
“GLOW was one of the undoubted highlights of my teenage years. I entered with a small amount of singing experience and a tolerance for acting, and left with musical theatre as my greatest passion. The work the staff do to ensure both a friendly environment to learn within, and a professional one in which to make high quality theatre, is nothing short of remarkable.”
“What did Glow mean for Izzy? It is difficult to overstate what Glow meant to Izzy from the age of 12 to 18. It helped to build her self-confidence, forge strong and supportive friendships and discover that acting is what makes her feel truly alive.”
“We have three kids that go to Glow over the last several years. They absolutely love it, and really look forward to going. The opportunities are immense, and I can honestly say, their confidence has risen so much as a result of Glow. The teachers are tremendous. I would highly recommend this drama group to anyone.”
“What an amazing set of results. Well done to the whole Glow team who work long and hard to produce productions of this calibre.”
“My daughter loves to attend every single session at Glow Theatre Group. It is a proper acting company and she is grasping all the benefits of it. The production and teaching standard at Glow Theatre is very high and I can see her improving every session. Their shows are definitely the best!”
